Still Can't Decide....Read On

Why have a video of your wedding?

Or, if you want one, why hire a professional?

Many times, as I listen to people talking, I hear them as they walk by saying" we don't need a video, or we have someone who can film it for free, or as a wedding gift.

The average cost of getting a married these days seems to be around 10-20 thousand pounds, but the next morning when the couple wake up after their big day, what do they have for their money, memories that will fade with time?

The dress, cars, reception are all gone, expensive fleeting moments that cannot be recaptured no matter how good ones memory is. Just watch the video below to see how one couple regretted not having a video.

So there are the photographs. Maybe 50 - 100 from the photographer, and some from the guests, but what does that tell you of the day?

Video, however, brings the day not just to the Bride and Groom and their families, but to many who could not actually attend the day itself, who can re-live time and time again the whole event.

I used to look at a Wedding video as an entity in itself, but over 30 years of film-making has taught me that what I am recording is a slice in the life of a collection of people who will never get together in the same way again.

Only after a good few years of filming have I realised just what an important thing the video has become to so many people. For the first time, our generation will be able to identify with past members of our families long after they are gone, not just as a picture in a frame but in glorious high definition.

So why choose Emerald Media Productions?

We have more than 30 years spent recording and filming experience, we are getting many recommendations from photographers we have worked with. Wedding Video: A Must or a Maybe?

Wedding videos are now becoming as common as a photographer at a wedding. Gone are the days were the video is just an added luxury, its now a necessity and one thats regretted afterwards when its not booked.

Every couple will tell you how quickly the day goes and you will be surprised at how much you have missed. Statistics compiled have shown that more than 80% of couples who did not have a video recording wish they had. Of these 80% of couples, 66% said that, after looking at friends and families wedding videos, their video would have been the best representation of their wedding day.

Most weddings bring together the whole family and without trying to sound morbid sometimes for the last time. Having all the family and friends together all in one place is the ideal opportunity to get them on film for eternity and at one of the happiest occasions you can have.

You may be thinking wedding photos and a video are overkill, but trust us, you will want both. Don't just take our word for it listen to this video and the blogs underneath from these people, we at Emerald Media Productions, would not want you to have the same regrets.....

"The only regret I have about our wedding is not having a videographer. The day goes by so quickly -- you really miss so much of it. I look back now and wish I would have spent the money for it."

"I was really worried that I might regret not having a videographer -- not only to capture my fiance and me, but mostly our family members. I know it's kind of morbid, but I know they won't be around forever and I wanted to capture them all."

"While we are very pleased with our photographer, I'm now starting to have second thoughts about not having a videographer. I guess there's nothing like having a video to capture the details, people's faces/expressions, our vows, speeches -- things that I might miss during the day as a busy bride and that don't necessarily get captured in even the best quality photos."

"DO IT!!!!! I promise you will not regret spending the money. You may not think you want to relive every minute, but after the day you have been meticulously planning for months flies by in what feels like seconds, you will be desperate for a way to remember it! and you will see lots you missed on the day"

"I just got married in June, and we had both a photographer and a videographer. I am so, so, so thankful that we ended up going with the video. It was something we almost cut to save money, but it was so worth it! When we got the pictures back, there were many guests and moments that were missed -- and thankfully were caught by the video. I hate being videotaped, but I never even noticed him throughout the day."

"You can replay the most special moments in your life if you have a videographer."

"Our videography was some of the best money we ever spent. It's true that it goes by so fast, and you do see things you didn't notice when you see the video. Absolutely zero regrets. Our reasoning was that if we're going to spend so much money on one day, don't you want to be able to relive it through video? Plus, we can show it to our kids and their kids."
